Welcome to our office! Dr. Nicholas J. Roumpakis will be performing your CDL/DOT physical. Dr. Roumpakis is one of a few licensed chiropractic physicians in the country that is a Certified Medical Examiner being listed in the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners. The National Registry is a division of the United States Department of Transportation and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. The (FMCSA) requires all medical examiners (MEs) who wish to perform physical examinations for interstate commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers to be trained and certified in FMCSA physical qualification standards. Medical examiners who have completed the training and successfully passed the test are included in an online directory on the National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners website.

Dr. Roumpakis is licensed in Illinois and Indiana and has been performing physical examinations for over 40 years. He follows all guidelines set forth by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration for qualifications and disqualifications of drivers.

The DOT Physical Exam for CDL
It is mandated by federal guidelines that all commercial drivers pass the DOT exam. The goal of this exam is to check whether an applicant is fit enough to drive safely at the present time as well as in the forseeable future. Passing the exam successfully usually means you only have to take the exam in 24 months time, although in some cases this period might be shortened in case that serious health issues might appear in the future. Our DOT/CDL physical exams meet FMCSA requirements.

Our office has also partnered with Choice DNA, the largest professional drug, alcohol, and paternity testing lab in the country-located in the same building as our office. Our office also has partnerships with other imaging and lab facilities in the area as well.
